Teen Challenge International

The Yorba Linda Sunrise Rotary Club has, over the past several Years, developed a unique partnership with Teen Challenge of Orange County. Men from Santa Ana-based program, provide assistance to the Rotary Club at its major fundraising event – Lobsterfest. Working side-by-side,Teen Challenge Members and Rotarians, set-up and then clean up the event site after hosting more than 1,200 people at the all-you-can-eat lobster and steak event. It's always a long, yet rewarding day for all.

The YL Sunrise Rotary Club has made significant financial donations to Teen Challenge in appreciation for the men's invaluable efforts at Lobsterfest. For example, funds have been used to purchase the food for Teen Challenge's major fundraiser; to purchase game room equipment; to pay for a roofing project at the organization's headquarters; and to support a building acquisition fund. This year the funds will be used to repair the roof on the learning center. The Learning center houses the after school programs that steer teens away from gangs, drugs and alcohol.
